Well, this word has just been enough for us and has been a very very different phase in all our lives together where our bodies are tied inside our homes ( well not literally) for 4 months all of a sudden.

It has been alike this sudden break in our race of running ahead, waking up, going out meeting people, showing up at different places, traveling, job, colleges, etc .. this all has come to a sudden break for most of us.

And all we are left with ? at the end of the day ? our own self .

Yes , our own thoughts .

Thoughts are beautiful, they are magic if put to great use. It can build machines and airplanes,  create things for the welfare of humankind, help each other grow, fetch food for a hungry stomach and so more.

Thoughts are limitless and powerful till they have a direction and a flow .

But amid this lockdown, a lot of us are struggling. Not with good or bad thoughts but a mixture of them all. The “ overthinking “is causing us to be an obstacle for most of us and slowing down our productivity.

Its important for us to address this issue , dissect it and found the solution for it .

So here are 3 ways I am going to recommend you guys to stop overthinking and actually get to work amid lockdown

And trust me, if you follow these 3 together then not in a day but in a few weeks you will surely get the result.

1.MEDITATION / A break for the overthinking.

I know most of you don’t like this word “ meditation “ and might even predict that I am gonna give you advice on Yoga or some asanas that are gonna solve this issue but wait and read ahead.

The problem with most of us is that we haven’t actually given ourselves a break amidst this lockdown. Yes, physically it has been a huge break for us but mentally?

These thoughts that are bothering us, instead of thinking and worrying about them and running away from them, what if we actually face them? what if we actually ask them what they want ? what if we “witness” them? That’s all meditation is about with a good posture.

Sit and relax for a while on a calm morning and breathe in and breathe out. Don’t panic. Don’t get nervous just breathe and then ask yourself what’s bothering you. Your inner voice will reply only when you will calm and assure him/her that you are gonna listen to him/ her and solve his /her problem

You can easily do this right ?

You listen to your favourite star , actor , friends , society

Give yourself 5 minutes and listen yourself .

Make yourself understand things and make peace with yourself or a deal about making peace with yourself.

Ask yourself what you need to work on and work towards it .

2. SPENDING TIME WITH FRIENDS/FAMILY

The world has reached such a point where we today witness thousands of us dying or suffering through this virus and we realize life is short. Yes there are moments that have hurt us or broken us so much, times that had to make us feel lifeless, memories that make your heartache but look around you, is there really any time left to dwell in your past and live in your past when you realize that more than past and future, the present is the reality and the present is precious

Isn’t it time to feel alive again, make the most out of all that you have, and strive for what you want, living in the present is so so important. Your parents are probably 45 plus now, old but bold enough yet for life, still facing challenges in their old days and raising you. And there you are, a teenager who thinks he’s been burdened with the worst and can’t ever get up? the truth is you can and there’s only one person that can get you out of this mess i.e YOURSELF.

Life is short and I don’t need to mention the recent examples for that .

3. WATCHING MOVIES / READING BOOKS

Art is beautiful and worthwhile to spend your heart and soul. Art is one but with different forms and It takes our mind to different stages and levels of consciousness.  Some of us love to get lost in the music , some of us like to relate with fictional characters in books or feel and experience them by watching on TV screens. Ways may be different but the feeling is soothing and sometimes it gives our mind a break from the overthinking by channelizing or directing our thoughts in a good way

These are some easy and small ways to understand , answer and at times divert your mind from the overthinking

Looking back, i realized that i wasn’t a slow learner. I wasn’t just curious enough. This is how most people are. Most of the people don’t try to actively seek new ideas or to solve things differently, Instead, they spend most of their time in trying figure things from their own.

In Order to achieve more things in less time we have to cut out the thing that takes longest time which is learning, now to cut out the learning curve we need to minimize the number of mistakes we are going to make, The ultimate solution is “WE NEED TO READ ALOT”

Why we need to read alot..?

The Reason is – From reading you will get different perspective of a single situation and you will make less mistakes which allows you to cut the longest time in your journey. Reading books and articles from different people who have already done what you are trying to do will definately cut the learning curve by months, years or even decades for you.

Be crystal clear about what you are trying to achieve in your life, there are two ways of achieving them: There’s a long path and there is a short part.

The long path is the result of not being a someone who actively seek new ideas and try to solve things from different perspective. It’s kind of penalty for not being a reader, a penalty of trying things from trial and fix method.

Save yourself the time and effort and here’s saying of a great man named “Socrates”

Note : You don’t have to personally know your mentor. Many of mine are dead hundread of years ago and most of them are from books!

4. Does This Contribute In My Goals?

Not everyone on this planet have goals, so you can reframe this question in your way.

  • “Does this align with my values?”
  • “Does this contribute with my purpose in life?”
  • “Does this contribute in my lomg term missions?”

People often do things that are not contibuting a thing in their values, goals, and Mission. there can be many reasons for this, but most of the time it’s because they simly don’t ask themeselves ths question.

The Next time you’re doing something make sure they add some values to your goals, missions or purpose of your life.

You need to proof yourself that you can do anything, you’re living the life you want, you have come really far in this journey and you are feeling good today! When you don’t do this you may end up lost in your excessive ego and desperately trying how to feel good.

You’re getting curious and start doing crazy little things.

Like there are some people in your locality working and normally don’t notice them and suddenly you will the urge to know them. Normally you don’t notice them but this time, based on a random gut feeling you go out of your way and talk to them.

Who knows the future – maybe you just made new friends, maybe they offer inspiration or some piece of advice that may completely change your life. The main thing you have to focus on is that, now you know how to listen and follow your intuition.

Our Intuition is always trying to tell us something but we are too busy or noisy to listen. If you’re doing crazy little things you feel compelled to but can’t explain, you’re into something special! You’re on the RIGHT PATH.

Your Community is changing.

This means you might feel disconnecting from people you’ve had in your life for years, and of course it feels confusing and painful. But Remember this – You’re moving from people that no longer needed to be in your life.

Having Good people in your life that you consciously select is one of the best things you can do for yourself. The friend circle or community around you changing means your world is changing.

Even i had also gone from this situation where i have lost many of my school friends within a year and i have totally different people filling on my life and they reflect everything i love about myself. They actually feel right, they are believers. They teach me things.

You Notice your sense more often.

It’s simple as damn, suppose someone is eating grapefruit and it tastes amazing. When did this get so sweet? So many people are entirely unconscious and don’t notice theses things.

If you have started noticing the sun on your face when you step outside, the taste of good things in your mouth, the changes and pain in your body after exercising and Sweat. you’re no longer sleepwalking!

They know how to act and when to act. They only attend anything when it’s required. They plan their day strategically and with purpose, because most of the time they are working. Successful people don’t have time for much else.

So when you see them, they appear to have it all under control.

But when you don’t see them, they are working very hard to keep things moving with full speed.

What i have learned about successful people is this….

As a young Enterprise and ambitious learner, I am trying to surround with as many successful individual as possible.

I want to learn from them, Study them. Understand them and their actions. so that i can learn for them and keep my journey up, and leave the rest.

Their is a saying, “You are a reflection of the five people you spend the most time with” – I Believe that!

So you should.

Here’s the rule :

Do what you actually need to do, before you do what you want to do – Read that again!

That Means, it’s important that you do the things you need to do, the things that will take you more closer towards your goals!

Learn the difference between the things you actually need to so and the things you want to do.

And that’s not always easy.

That’s the reason why only few people end up achieving their goals and became successful in their lives!

We can redirect that time towards our passion, relationships and growth. Everyone have their own setback triggers (things that send you into depression state.) These triggers makes you wonder how you ever get throughout the day without something good happens to you.

So You Have A Bad Day, Now What?

There is a natural feeling of Gloom, that hits us when an outbreak or our expectations disappoints us.

It becomes more difficult when we totally get into negative state. It eats us from inside and distract us from our purpose, mission and even day-to-day life. That kind of situation leads to an unproductive and unhappy life,

This is how i recover when i had a bad day.

Time heals everything, let the time heal you – take a few hours of sleep, do some exercises or talk with someone who loves you, understands you and actually cares for you!

Identify Your Triggers.

What triggers you to get into a negative state of mind? Everyone have different triggers like if someone criticize you or don’t respect you. Your Trigger may differ. These triggers makes us think about disappointment, anger or eats you from inside. There is only one quick escape.

Change your perspective and try not to think about those things, try to remember all those good days you ever had!

Write About It.

Let your mind get free by writing it on a piece of paper. Give frustration a way out. On these kinda days my subconscious mind make me get to my laptop and start typing on my keyboard about all the negativity in my head and it works for me, i think it will also work for you too…

Psychologists says writing is an effective way to fight with depression. It allow you to get a clear image of what the problem is and to take control over them. It also help to change your perceptive.

Writing helps you to be more creative and put you in problem solving mode (A great topic for another article). it make your thoughts connect with each other and putting your brain into a flow. it also help you to find peace, to cool off. To Download the frustration, put it in a box and throw it away.

you can’t achieve anything in life if you’re not clear about exactly what you want. Having a goal pushes you to do something.

Yogi Berra Once Said, “If you don’t know where you’re going, you might not get there,” You can’t achieve it without having priorities in your life. Priorities are something that you actually want to do while working at office or in your personal life.

Every successful and effective people know what to do, when to do it. And the main helps them to achieve their goals is, knowing how to priorities their goals and how priorities affect the success of your life.

Now the best solution or you can say to better priorities you goals, fast go and grab a pen and a piece of paper and list down the following – 1. Your Most Important Goals. 2. The less important goals than most important goals and separate them, then order them by importance of each goal in your life and finally add the estimated time of completion of your goal.

Name it “Success List”, says Gary Keller, author of “The One Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results”.

“Long hours spent checking off a to-do list and ending the day with a full trash can and a clean desk are not virtuous and have nothing to do with success.Instead of a to-do list, you need a success list — a list that is purposefully created around extraordinary results.
